R. Scott Lewis
Mr. Lewis is a member of the firm who lives in Bay Minette and practices primarily in the firm’s Bay Minette office. Mr. Lewis is married to the former Julie Elizabeth Robertson and the couple have two children. Mr. Lewis received his Bachelors degree from the University of Alabama magna cum laude, in 1993. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law where he was a senior editor for the Alabama Law Review and received his Juris Doctorate degree, magna cum laude, in 1996. Mr. Lewis served as an attorney in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps for four years and his experience as a judge advocate included the areas of civil law, administrative law and criminal defense
Mr. Lewis’s practice emphasizes the areas of real property, business transactions, probate, wills, estates, municipal law and education law.
Mr. Lewis is a member of the Baldwin County Bar Association and the Alabama Bar Association. He practices in State and Federal courts. Mr. Lewis is a director for the North Baldwin County Health Care Authority and the North Baldwin Infirmary Advisory Board. Mr. Lewis is an active member of the Bay Minette Rotary Club, and has previously served as the president, vice president and secretary.
He is a director for the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office Foundation and he is also the former president, campaign chairman and director for the Baldwin County United Way.
Mr. Lewis is a former director of the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Lewis currently serves as legal counsel for the Baldwin County Board of Education, the City of Bay Minette, the Bay Minette Planning Commission and North Baldwin Utilities.
Mr. Lewis is an Alabama Law Foundation Fellow, which is an honor bestowed on less than 1% of all attorneys in the State of Alabama. To achieve this rare designation, an honoree is chosen because of their dedicated improvement to the lives of their community and the State as a whole.
Aside from his legal and community obligations, Mr. Lewis is an active deacon in the Bay Minette First Baptist Church, where he and his family are active members.
